The Hardcore Cycling Club continued their impressive season by taking on the Arlington 500 on Sunday, June 1, 2025! This time, a larger contingent of our club tackled the 100.7-mile century route through the scenic roads of Lake County, Illinois.
The weather was on the cooler side, hovering around 60 degrees, making for ideal cycling conditions. The “mostly level with some moderate hills” terrain provided a pleasant challenge, offering a little something for everyone, just as promised.
Hosted by the Arlington Heights Bicycle Club, the Arlington 500 was a well-supported ride. The clearly marked routes, designated by colored markers, made navigation a breeze. We also appreciated the availability of downloadable GPS routes and cue sheets for extra assurance. The rest stops were well-provisioned with food and beverages, a welcome sight for our crew as we logged the miles. On-site restrooms at the registration/rest stop were also a convenient touch.
It was fantastic to see so many of our club members out there, pushing their limits and enjoying the beautiful Lake County scenery together. The camaraderie was high, and it was a truly rewarding experience for everyone who participated.
A big thank you to the Arlington Heights Bicycle Club for organizing such a great event. Your efforts in putting together a supported and enjoyable ride on these scenic roads are much appreciated.
And as always, we extend our sincere gratitude to our sponsors. Your continued support allows us to pursue our passion for cycling and participate in these fantastic events.
